The food truck has enjoyed a full year cooking up a storm at corporate and public events, along with delivering a hot lunch to a community in need every Friday.

The highlight of the year was Sesame Street’s very own Cookie Monster popping into OzHarvest to learn about food waste and cook up delicious toasties with Trav in the Food Truck. The whole office came to a standstill during filming as staff, volunteers and visitors were mesmerised by Cookie and his little pink friend Abby!

Woolworths have generously seconded Assistant Store Manager, Megan Jordan to support the OzHarvest Market. Megan has brought her unique insights and management skills to help run Australia’s first free supermarket.

Megan has engaged the hearts and minds of both customers and volunteers in the market and always goes the extra mile to ensure people are looked after. She has made the community room the heart of the market, offering a nourishing morning tea and healthy snacks.

Not only does she bring a wealth of supermarket management skills, but her own personal experience of homelessness gives her a unique insight and empathy for many of the customers.

My motto is never give up and never give in and as a result I’ve managed to turn my life around and can now give back to the community.

For Purpose Co.

The business of impact.

Today, OzHarvest requires significant revenue to rescue food and reduce food waste through education, training, lobbying and advocacy as well as support its engagement and innovation pillars and overall purpose to Nourish Our Country. More capital is required to grow and focus on new ways to reduce food waste and invest in future needs.

ForPurposeCo. was set up in April 2018 to diversify revenue streams, increase funding and be the innovation arm for OzHarvest, having identified a unique opportunity to generate financial value and return through investment in food and waste technologies for the greater good of the planet and people – with proceeds going back to OzHarvest.

Its first initiative Juice For Good is an Australian-first, an innovative fresh orange juice vending machine that uses beautifully blemished oranges sourced from local growers.
